Two children in Kanawha County who were reported missing after their parents allegedly took them from state custody have been returned, authorities said.
Kynslee and Joshua Kyle Cline Jr. were placed back into the care of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services overnight, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The siblings were last seen in the Cross Lanes area in late December. Deputies said when DHHS attempted to take custody, the children’s parents, Lora Vance and Joshua Cline, had already fled with them. The children had not attended school since December 18, and CPS had not been in contact with the family since December 23.
Officials stated the children are not believed to be in any danger at this time.
