Armed Man Shot by CPD Officers on South Side; No Officers Injured

Chicago police officers were involved in a shooting Friday night on the city’s South Side.

According to CPD, the incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Ingleside Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance involving a man armed with both a gun and a knife. Investigators said that when officers arrived, the suspect attempted to flee and fired a weapon at them.

The officers involved will be placed on routine administrative duties for a minimum of 30 days.
