Miami Gardens police have arrested professional boxer Gervonta Bryant “Tank” Davis, 31, in connection with a domestic violence incident from October 2025. He was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday in the Miami Design District by the department’s Special Investigations Section and the U.S. Marshals’ fugitive task force.
Charges
Davis now faces multiple charges:
-
Battery
-
False imprisonment
-
Attempted kidnapping
Incident Details
The arrest stems from an Oct. 27, 2025, report in which Davis allegedly grabbed and dragged a woman—identified as his ex-girlfriend—at a gentlemen’s club and forced her toward a parking garage. According to police, the victim said she and Davis dated for five months in 2022 and had broken up about a month prior to the incident. She reported injuries from the encounter, which led detectives to issue a warrant for his arrest late last year.
Previous Allegations
Davis has faced prior accusations of domestic violence in South Florida:
-
June 15, 2025: Arrested in Doral after a different ex-girlfriend alleged he struck her; charges were later dropped when the victim stopped cooperating.
-
2020: Turned himself in after a video appeared to show him grabbing the mother of his child during a charity basketball game.
-
2023: Charged with battery after a woman accused him of slapping her; case was dismissed when the alleged victim declined to proceed.
Personal Notes
According to The Baltimore Banner, Davis discussed retirement plans last year, saying he wanted to be “softer and more humble” for his two daughters.
Davis’ attorneys have declined to comment.
