Authorities have charged two people in connection with an infant death investigation in Owsley County.
Kentucky State Police launched the investigation on Nov. 29, 2024, after troopers received a 911 call about a woman who had been taken to a nearby hospital reporting a possible miscarriage.
At the hospital, the couple informed officials that the infant remained at their home on Lewis Lane in Booneville. Troopers and detectives went to the residence, where they found an unresponsive infant over an embankment outside the home.
Authorities charged Deeann Bennett, 27, and Charles Bennett, 32, with reckless homicide and concealing the death of an infant. Deeann Bennett also faces charges of tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Both are being held in the Three Forks Regional Jail.
