A 61-year-old Georgia man has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting last year in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood.
Donnell Simmons, of Lithonia, Georgia, was arrested Friday and charged with one felony count of first-degree murder.
According to Chicago Police Department, Simmons was identified as the second suspect in the Aug. 17, 2025, shooting that occurred just after 11:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of West Adams Street. A 28-year-old man was shot and killed in that incident.
