A driver was injured following a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Kanawha County, deputies confirmed.
The wreck happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the 23700 block of McCorkle Avenue near Glasgow, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they found an SUV resting on its driver’s side in the roadway, with flames coming from the hood. A passerby told authorities they tried to assist the driver and described his injuries as serious.
Deputies were eventually able to remove the driver from the vehicle. He required medical attention and was transported by ambulance.
About 15 minutes after the crash, McCorkle Avenue was closed to allow emergency crews to respond and clear the scene.
