Chicago police investigate Loop shooting that wounded teen

Chicago police are investigating a shooting that left a teenage boy wounded in the Loop on Monday night.

Police reported that the 14-year-old was standing outside in the 0-100 block of East Washington Street around 8:30 p.m. when an unidentified suspect began shooting in his direction.

The teen sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot. He was transported to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he is currently listed in fair condition.

Authorities have not shared any further details. Area Three detectives are continuing to investigate.
