A woman was found stabbed to death in Orange County, and authorities arrested her estranged husband on suspicion of murder.
On Feb. 14, Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 26000 block of Laurelwood Lane in San Juan Capistrano shortly after 6:30 a.m.
Deputies located the victim, a woman in her 60s, inside the garage with fatal stab wounds.
They also found the male suspect, also in his 60s, at the home suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities identified him as the victim’s estranged husband but did not release his name.
Both estranged spouses lived at the residence. Officials transported the suspect to a hospital for treatment. After his release, authorities will book him into Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Investigators have not shared additional details about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
Officials will release the victim’s identity after the Coroner Division completes official identification. They will release the suspect’s name once he is discharged from the hospital and formally booked into jail.
