PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. — Two people have died following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday on U.S. Route 35 in Putnam County, deputies said.
The crash was reported around 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Plantation Road. According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the collision involved two vehicles in what was described as a T-bone crash.
Authorities initially said multiple people were injured, with at least one person suffering serious injuries and being flown to a hospital for treatment.
By mid-morning, deputies confirmed that two people involved in the crash had died. Their identities have not yet been released.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area as emergency crews responded and investigated. No additional details were immediately available
