ASHCAMP, Ky. — Troopers are investigating a deadly single-vehicle ambulance crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Pike County.
According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police, the rollover happened shortly before 4 p.m. along Route 197 in Ashcamp.
Authorities said Douglas Jones, a passenger in the ambulance, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle, owned by Lifeguard Ambulance Service, left the roadway and overturned.
Troopers are continuing to reconstruct the crash and were assisted at the scene by Lifeguard staff and the Millard Volunteer Fire Department
