Man Killed, Two Others Injured in Albany Park Shooting

CHICAGO — A man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in the city’s Albany Park neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police said a 24-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were inside the basement of a home in the 4900 block of North Harding Avenue just before 3 p.m. when an unknown suspect opened fire, striking both victims.

The 24-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 29-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the left foot and was transported to Swedish Hospital in fair condition.

Authorities later said a third victim, a 34-year-old man, was also shot in the calf during the incident. He self-transported to Swedish Hospital and was listed in fair condition.

Detectives from Area Five are investigating. No further details about a suspect or motive have been released.
