Two injured in shooting after large fight near Santa Monica Pier, police say

Two people were wounded in a shooting Sunday night near the Santa Monica Pier,   authorities said.

Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 9 p.m. Investigators said the shooting occurred after a large altercation involving several individuals.

Victims hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries

Police said two people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident. Both victims were transported to a hospital and were listed in stable condition with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Investigation continues

Detectives are still working to determine what led to the fight and subsequent gunfire. Officials said parts of the pier may remain temporarily restricted while investigators process the scene and gather evidence.

Police also have not announced any arrests related to the incident.

“This remains an active investigation,” officials said, adding that additional details will be released as more information becomes available.
