A tragic hit-and-run incident early Friday morning has left a woman dead on the Lodge Freeway, Detroit, as authorities intensify efforts to locate the driver responsible.
Deadly Crash Reported in Early Morning Hours
According to initial reports, emergency dispatchers began receiving calls around 2:30 a.m. about a woman walking along the freeway. Moments later, additional calls confirmed that she had been struck by a vehicle.
When troopers from the Michigan State Police arrived at the scene, they found:
- Several vehicles stopped along the roadway
- Bystanders gathered around the victim
- The woman suffering from severe injuries
Despite emergency response efforts, the victim — whose identity has not yet been released — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Flees Scene, Investigation Intensifies
Authorities confirmed that the driver involved in the crash fled immediately after the collision. Law enforcement officials are now actively working to identify and locate the suspect.
