A Texas man has been sentenced to decades behind bars after admitting to horrific crimes involving the abuse and exploitation of children he was trusted to care for.
80-Year Federal Sentence Handed Down
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 41-year-old Kevin Duane Pridemore received a total sentence of 80 years (960 months) in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including the production and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The sentence was issued by Alan D. Albright in federal court in Waco. Prosecutors confirmed that the penalties for each charge will run consecutively, significantly increasing the total prison time.
In addition to incarceration, the court ordered Pridemore to pay $207,000 in restitution to victims.
Investigation Uncovered Extensive Evidence
Authorities began investigating after suspicious activity linked to a child exploitation website led law enforcement to execute a search warrant at the suspect’s home in March 2025.
A forensic review of seized devices revealed:
- Tens of thousands of illicit images and videos
- Material involving very young children
- Evidence of repeated abuse over time
Investigators determined that multiple victims were harmed while Pridemore was working as a babysitter, highlighting what officials described as a serious breach of trust.
Charges and Guilty Plea
Pridemore was first indicted in April 2025, with additional charges filed later that year. He ultimately pleaded guilty to:
- Two counts of production of child exploitation material
- One count of possession
The court sentenced him to:
- 30 years for each production charge
- 20 years for possession
All sentences will be served consecutively.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which led the investigation, described the crimes as a “profound abuse of trust”, given the suspect’s role as a caregiver.
