Police helicopter helps track down home invasion suspects in Flint

A police helicopter played a key role in the arrest of suspects linked to a home invasion and assault in Flint, authorities said.

According to the Michigan State Police, the incident unfolded on March 25 when a trooper monitoring from the air spotted a gray SUV driving recklessly near Saginaw Street and Carpenter Road.

While tracking the vehicle, dispatchers received a report of an active home invasion. The descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle matched what the trooper had already been observing from the helicopter.

The trooper continued to follow the SUV from above, leading ground units to a location within the city where the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Police identified those arrested as a male driver and a female passenger. Authorities did not release further details about the individuals.

Officials later shared video footage of the operation, highlighting how aerial surveillance helped quickly locate and apprehend the suspects.
