A shooting at an elementary school playground in Kaufman County left an 11-year-old injured, with another child of the same age now in custody, according to authorities.

Police from the Crandall Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Opal Smith Elementary School.

When officers arrived, they found an 11-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
