Deadly Incident Unfolds in Cumberland County
A woman in southern Kentucky is facing murder charges after authorities say she fatally shot her husband during a domestic dispute that ended in a crash.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening on Red Banks Road, where deputies initially responded to what appeared to be a single-vehicle accident.
Victim Found With Gunshot Wound
When officers arrived, they discovered James Edens, 60, of Burkesville, inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries, according to investigators.
Wife Accused in Fatal Shooting
Authorities identified the suspect as Heather Edens, 52, the victim’s wife. Detectives believe she shot her husband during an argument shortly before the vehicle crash.
Following the investigation, she was arrested and charged with murder.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
Heather Edens was booked into a regional detention facility and later appeared in court for her arraignment. Officials have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
