Convicted Murderer Found Guilty of Third Killing

The Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office says 20-year-old Rease Pence has been found guilty of first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, and a felony firearm offense. The charges stem from the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old at the Arbor Trails Apartments in May 2022.

Pence is already serving a 122.5-year prison sentence for a January 2022 double homicide in South Bend.

His sentencing for the newest conviction is set for Jan. 12, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
