Man in grave condition after being found shot in Grand Crossing, police say

An investigation is underway after a man was found critically injured in a shooting Wednesday evening on Chicago’s South Side.

Chicago police said officers responded around 5:49 p.m. to the 1500 block of East 74th Street in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. When they arrived, they found a 25-year-old man near the street with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he remains in grave condition.

As of Wednesday evening, no arrests have been made.

Area 1 detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
