A deadly three-vehicle crash in Lake Elsinore late Sunday night left one person dead and two others critically injured, authorities confirmed.
The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Highway 74 and Trellis Lane, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responding to the scene described it as a “major injury traffic collision” involving three vehicles.
All three drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition. Officials later confirmed that one of the victims died from their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
The two surviving victims remain hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have not determined the cause of the crash, and no arrests have been made so far. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to establish what led to the collision.
