Authorities in Kendall County are investigating after a teenage girl was shot and a man was found dead inside a home in unincorporated Oswego Township.
Officials said the 14-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and received treatment at a Chicago-area hospital. Investigators reported that the shooting happened at her residence in the 0-99 block of Palomino Lane.
Authorities confirmed that a gathering took place at the home Saturday evening. The shooting occurred between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday, and those involved had attended the party.
When Kendall County sheriff’s deputies searched the property, they located a 22-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials believe the gunfire originated from outside the home.
Investigators have identified a possible person of interest who is currently in custody, though no charges have been announced.
