27-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Alexandria; BCA Assisting Investigation

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting involving a 27-year-old man in Alexandria, Minnesota, early Tuesday morning.

The Alexandria Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Sixth Avenue East around 1:15 a.m. after receiving a report that a man had been shot in the chest.

When officers arrived, they located the victim and immediately began providing medical aid. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension responded and collected evidence. Police confirmed the BCA is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities stated there is no believed threat to public safety at this time.
