Seminole County Fugitive Caught Red-Handed During Drug Use in Davenport

A fugitive wanted on multiple warrants was arrested Thursday night in Davenport after deputies reportedly found her actively using illegal drugs.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at a residence on Jocelyn Drive around 9:50 p.m. on January 15, acting on information regarding the location of 40-year-old Ashley Anne Dye.

Dye was wanted on outstanding Seminole County warrants for probation violations tied to fleeing law enforcement, as well as possession of fentanyl and cocaine.

According to authorities, deputies discovered Dye in a room snorting methamphetamine through a straw. She was taken into custody immediately without further incident.

In addition to her existing warrants, Dye now faces new Polk County charges for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center for booking.
