1 dead, 2 injured after shooting in Morgan Park

A man was killed and two others injured in a shooting Wednesday night in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood.

Police responded shortly before 11:30 p.m. to reports that the shooting occurred near a laundromat in the 11100 block of South Longwood Drive.

First responders from the Chicago Fire Department found three victims inside a sport-utility vehicle a few blocks away on the 10900 block of South Homewood Avenue, near Prospect Gardens Park. They began treating the victims for their injuries on the scene.

Police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Vincent Quindon, who was shot in the lower back and pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

A second man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition. Another 28-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot and was listed in good condition.

Video from the scene showed Chicago police searching a white SUV where the victims were found on Homewood Avenue. The vehicle had multiple bullet holes.

No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning.

Calumet Area detectives are leading the investigation.
