A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a domestic shooting in Broward County on Saturday afternoon, according to deputies.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the shooting was reported near the 4000 block of Northeast 8th Avenue in Oakland Park, prompting a response from deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue.
When they arrived, deputies found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, BSO said.
BSO’s Violent Crimes Unit was notified, and detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate the shooting may have been a “domestic incident,” authorities said. Investigators added that one individual is currently being questioned as the investigation continues.
