Federal authorities say an alleged member of the Salvadoran gang MS-13 has been charged in Southern California with several crimes, including homicide.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced early Saturday that William Geoevanni Martinez-Vivas was charged following the completion of a prior sentence for illegal reentry into the United States.
According to ICE, Martinez-Vivas now faces charges that include homicide, assault, burglary, trespassing, and various property-related offenses.
Officials said Martinez-Vivas was already being held at a secure facility at the time the new charges were filed.
Authorities did not release additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the charges.
