A man shot one of two individuals accused of attempting a robbery early Tuesday morning in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.
Chicago police responded to the 5200 block of West Montana shortly after 2:40 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
According to CPD, a 39-year-old man was getting out of his vehicle when two males approached him on foot and demanded his belongings. Police said one of the suspects was armed.
The 39-year-old, who holds a valid concealed carry license, drew his firearm and fired multiple shots at the suspects. One of the males was struck in the legs and was transported to a hospital in good condition.

Both suspects were taken into custody.
