10 Injured After 59-Vehicle Crash On Highway 99 Near Earlimart

A massive crash involving 59 vehicles occurred on northbound and southbound Highway 99 near Earlimart Saturday morning, causing hours-long closures, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the incident around 8:16 a.m., initially noting 15 vehicles were involved on the northbound side near Avenue 24. CHP Visalia later confirmed that crashes also occurred on the southbound lanes, bringing the total to 59 vehicles.

CHP said 10 people sustained minor to moderate injuries, and no deaths were reported. Dense fog, with visibility of less than 200 feet, was cited as a contributing factor.

By 2:32 p.m., both directions of the highway were reopened.
