Scott Liggett, a 42-year-old South Bend man and former elementary school vice principal, was arrested Monday morning on a Child Seduction charge, according to the St. Joseph County Police Department.
Court documents say the victim came forward on March 2, reporting that Liggett had sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager. At the time of the alleged misconduct, Liggett was serving as vice principal at Mary Daly Elementary School in Elkhart.
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, the victim told investigators that Liggett gave her “special attention” over a period of at least two years. A witness also told police that Liggett had “a history of obsessing over his special project kids,” and frequently talked about the victim.
Liggett was taken into custody following the investigation and is facing one felony count.
