The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that left two men dead Friday night in Kankakee Township.
Deputies responded around 9 p.m. to the intersection of State Road 2 and County Road 500 East, where they found both drivers deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, a truck driven by 42-year-old Matthew J. Turner of Crawfordville, Florida, collided head-on with a car driven by 43-year-old Michael S. Munroe of Lansing, Illinois.
Both Turner and Munroe were pronounced dead at the scene. Members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team and the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division are assisting with the investigation.
Toxicology results for both drivers are pending.
