Authorities have charged two people in connection with an infant death investigation in Owsley County.
Kentucky State Police launched the investigation on Nov. 29, 2024, after troopers received a 911 call about a woman who had been taken to a nearby hospital reporting a possible miscarriage.
At the hospital, the couple informed officials that the infant remained at their home on Lewis Lane in Booneville. Troopers and detectives responded to the residence, where they found an unresponsive infant over an embankment outside the home.
Officials charged Deeann Bennett, 27, and Charles Bennett, 32, with reckless homicide and concealing the death of an infant. Authorities also charged Deeann Bennett with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
