A late-night party at a rental home in Anderson County turned violent early Saturday when gunfire broke out, leaving two people injured.
According to Kentucky State Police, officers were called to Lover’s Leap Road around 1:27 a.m. after reports of shots fired at a gathering attended by roughly 50 to 75 students from Kentucky State University. Investigators say a large fight erupted during the party, and at some point a gun was discharged.
Both victims suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and were taken to Frankfort Regional Hospital for treatment.
Authorities stated that limited cooperation from partygoers has made it difficult to identify a suspect. The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue processing evidence.
