Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed overnight on the city’s South Side.
The shooting occurred around 11:20 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of West 61st Place in the Englewood neighborhood.
Officers on patrol heard gunshots and responded to the area, where they found a man lying unresponsive on the ground. Police said he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds across his body.
Officers applied a tourniquet and performed lifesaving measures before transporting him to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead.
No suspects are in custody, and authorities have not released any descriptions of a suspect or suspects.
Area One Detectives are continuing to investigate the deadly shooting.
