Authorities in Antrim County, Michigan have charged a man with multiple felony offenses after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a minor that investigators say occurred over a three-year period.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police at the Gaylord Post began investigating the allegations earlier this month, according to officials.
Arrest and investigation
During the investigation, authorities identified the suspect as Joshua Procknow, 37, of East Jordan, Michigan. Investigators said the preliminary findings indicated that Procknow allegedly sexually assaulted a minor and was also not complying with requirements of the Michigan Sex Offender Registry.
The Antrim County Prosecutor’s Office later issued an arrest warrant.
Procknow was taken into custody on March 10 by fugitive teams from the Third and Seventh districts and was lodged in the Antrim County Jail without incident.
Court proceedings and charges
Authorities said Procknow was arraigned on March 12 in the 86th District Court in Antrim County.
He faces the following charges:
-
Six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
-
One count of failing to comply with the Michigan Sex Offender Registry
According to court records, his next hearing is scheduled for March 25 at 8 a.m.
The case remains under investigation.
