A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Nashville has been found dead in Kentucky, according to state authorities.
Body Discovered in Lyon County
Kentucky State Police said the body of Darrion Young, 37, was discovered Monday afternoon along the bank of the Cumberland River in Lyon County.
Authorities were called around 2 p.m. after a person reported finding a body near McKinney Road in Kuttawa. Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Connection to Nashville Homicide
Young had been wanted by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Kierra Timmons, 26.
Investigators allege Timmons was strangled inside an apartment in Antioch, a neighborhood southeast of Nashville. Her body was discovered on March 14 during a welfare check.
Timeline Leading to Discovery
- Timmons’ vehicle was found abandoned a day earlier on the shoulder of Interstate 24 near a bridge over the Cumberland River
- Young’s driver’s license was located inside the vehicle
- Authorities had searched the river and surrounding areas in the days following
Police previously indicated they could not rule out the possibility that Young entered the river.
Cause of Death Under Investigation
Officials have not yet determined Young’s cause of death. However, authorities said foul play is not suspected.
An autopsy has been scheduled as investigators work to confirm the circumstances surrounding his death.
