LEXINGTON, Kentucky — A local restaurant owner has been arrested and charged with multiple sex offenses involving a minor, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Marcos Jesus Banulos Valdes, 59, faces a total of 21 charges, including:
- 17 counts of third-degree rape
- 4 counts of third-degree sodomy
The charges involve a 17-year-old victim, authorities said.
Allegations Span Several Months
Police began investigating the case on March 27 after the victim’s mother reported the alleged abuse. According to the complaint, the teen disclosed multiple incidents that reportedly occurred between July 2025 and February 2026.
Investigators said the victim also provided supporting evidence as part of the case.
Business Owner Identified
Valdes is listed as the owner of Papi’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar, which operates multiple locations across Lexington, including areas such as Chevy Chase, Palomar, and Citation Boulevard.
Custody Status and Ongoing Case
Authorities confirmed that Valdes is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center. Further details about court proceedings have not yet been released.
