MIAMI, Florida — Authorities are investigating a shooting in Liberty City that left a man hospitalized and led police to examine two separate locations connected to the incident.
According to the Miami Police Department, the shooting occurred Wednesday evening, with officers first alerted just before 7:30 p.m. through a ShotSpotter detection system.
Two Locations Linked to Shooting
Police initially responded to an apartment area near Northwest 58th Street and 13th Avenue, where investigators discovered shell casings but no victim at the scene.
Shortly afterward, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office notified officers of a second location tied to the same incident, near Northwest 69th Street and 21st Avenue.
Victim Found and Hospitalized
At the second scene, officers located a man in his late 40s suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Ryder Trauma Center under a trauma alert for emergency treatment.
Authorities have not yet determined how the victim ended up at the second location.
Investigation Ongoing
No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made as of now. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are working to piece together what led to the incident.
