A woman has been arrested and is facing several felony charges after police say she shot two people during a parking lot incident in Homestead on Saturday night.
According to the Homestead Police Department, officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to the 2400 block of Northeast 10th Court following reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported both victims to a nearby hospital. Authorities said both individuals were listed in stable condition following treatment.
Investigators identified the suspect as 34-year-old Samantha Renee Morales, who was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Police say Morales now faces multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. She is also charged with using a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper exhibition of a firearm, and use of alcohol while impaired.
Officials confirmed that Morales was booked into jail following her arrest. Bond has been set on some of the charges, while others remain pending.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
