Florida Troopers Search for Hit-and-Run SUV Driver in Wesley Chapel Pedestrian Death

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers are actively searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian on Boyette Road and fled the scene, leaving the man to die.

Investigators say the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, when a 39-year-old Wesley Chapel man was walking along the southbound edge of Boyette Road, just north of Vienna Woods Lane. The vehicle reportedly hit the man and sped away southbound, leaving him injured on the roadside.

Tragically, the victim lay undiscovered overnight. A passerby found his body around 7 a.m. on November 17, nearly 12 hours after the crash.

FHP officials are seeking a Toyota 4Runner or a similar SUV, which may have front-end damage consistent with striking a pedestrian. Authorities urge anyone who was on Boyette Road that evening or noticed a damaged SUV to come forward immediately.

Anyone with information can contact FHP by dialing *FHP (*347) or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at TIPS.
