Adult, Child Die After Tragic House Fire in Colleyville; Investigation Underway

A devastating house fire in Colleyville has claimed the lives of one adult and one child, according to officials from the Colleyville Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded Saturday night to a residence on Bill Simmons Drive after reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered intense flames and heavy smoke, prompting additional agencies to assist in the response.

Authorities said two adults initially managed to escape the burning home. However, one of them re-entered the house after realizing that two children were still inside, leading to a desperate rescue effort.

Firefighters located the adult and both children during search operations. All three received advanced life support at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.

Officials later confirmed that one adult and one of the children died from their injuries. The condition of the second child has not been disclosed.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

In a statement, the fire department expressed condolences, calling the incident a heartbreaking tragedy for the family and community.

Investigators have since been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown.
