Authorities have released the name of a pedestrian who was struck and killed Monday morning along US 421 in Woodford County.
According to Versailles Police Chief Rob Young, officers were called to the scene around 8:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle collision and a person lying on the side of the roadway. When officers arrived, they determined a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
The victim has been identified by the coroner as 93-year-old David T. Phillips Jr.
Police say they have made contact with the driver involved in the crash. At this time, it is too early to determine whether any charges will be filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
