CPD Investigating After Man Shot, Killed in Marshall Square

A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in the Marshall Square neighborhood near Little Village.

Chicago police reported the shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of West 23rd Street.

A 23-year-old man was standing near a parking lot when an unknown SUV pulled up. A suspect exited the SUV, drew a gun, and fired at the victim, striking him in the head, shoulder, and chest, according to investigators.

The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he later died. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No arrests have been made. Area Four Detectives are actively investigating.
