A Brandon woman was killed early Monday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. near Milepost 14. Troopers said a 31-year-old Brandon man was driving a Subaru Outback westbound when he lost control of the vehicle for reasons still under investigation.
The SUV traveled onto the north shoulder, rolled over multiple times, and struck a tree and a fence. A 30-year-old female passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected during the rollover and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
