Governor Morrisey Appoints Two Members to West Virginia Legislature

Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed two individuals to fill vacancies in the West Virginia Legislature.

Trenton Barnhart of Pleasants County was appointed to the 3rd District of the West Virginia Senate, replacing State Senator Donna Boley, who retired earlier this month after 41 years of service. Barnhart has served in the West Virginia House of Delegates since 2019. He currently holds the role of Assistant Majority Whip, previously served as Vice Chair of the Workforce Development Committee, and also serves on the Banking and Insurance, Government Organization, Health and Human Resources, and Small Business and Economic Development Committees.

Morrisey also appointed Guy Ward of Marion County to represent the 74th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates. Ward previously served as mayor of White Hall and was elected to the House of Delegates in 2016 and 2020.
