Hammond man charged with multiple felony drug offenses after search warrant

A 43-year-old Hammond man, Jeffery Boylett Jr., is facing several felony drug charges following a narcotics investigation that led to the execution of a search warrant at a Hammond residence.

According to court documents, investigators looked into suspected drug activity at a home in the 1000 block of May Street during March, April, and May 2025. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, police obtained a search warrant, which they executed on May 14, 2025.

During the search, officers found a basement bedroom identified as Boylett’s. Police located mail addressed to Boylett in the room, and another person at the residence confirmed that he lived in the basement bedroom. Inside the room, officers recovered $575 in U.S. currency along with multiple controlled substances packaged in various baggies.

Police reported finding:

  • Pills weighing 15.91 grams that field-tested positive for MDMA (ecstasy) and fentanyl

  • A brown and gray powder substance weighing 8.68 grams that field-tested positive for heroin

  • Eleven individually packaged baggies containing a rock-like substance weighing 4.93 grams that field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl

  • An additional bag of a rock-like substance weighing 11.22 grams that field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl

  • Two additional baggies found inside a shoe containing powder and rock-like substances with a combined weight of 57.3 grams that field-tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl

Investigators noted in court filings that the amount of cocaine and fentanyl recovered meets Indiana’s legal threshold for possession with intent to deliver.
