Huntington Double Homicide Suspect Arrested in Northeast Ohio

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in Huntington, authorities said.

Kevante White, 27, of Akron, was taken into custody Sunday in the Akron area by the United States Marshals Service, according to a statement from the Huntington Police Department.

Investigators identified White as the suspect in a shooting early Friday morning that left Adrian Phillips and Derious Johnson dead. A warrant for his arrest was issued Saturday. Authorities said White returned to Akron after the shooting, prompting assistance from federal marshals to locate and apprehend him.

White faces two counts of first-degree murder. He is also charged with malicious wounding in connection with a third victim who was injured in the shooting and remains in stable condition at a Huntington hospital.

White is being held at a jail in Stark County, Ohio, as he awaits extradition back to West Virginia.
