Juvenile Arrested After High-Speed Crash Into Occupied Battle Creek Home

A juvenile driver was taken into custody after crashing a vehicle into an occupied home in Battle Creek on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Crash Details: Vehicle Slams Into Residential Property

Officers responded around 2 p.m. on April 4 to a reported crash in the 100 block of Post Avenue. When authorities arrived, they found a vehicle lodged in the front porch of a residence.

Investigators said the car had been traveling at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control, veered off the roadway, and collided with the home.

The impact caused significant damage to the porch, including dislodging a support pillar. However, officials confirmed the main structure of the house did not sustain major structural damage.

Homeowner Safe, Passenger Treated

The homeowner was inside the residence at the time of the crash but was not injured.

A passenger in the vehicle suffered a minor head injury and was treated at the scene before being released, police said.

Juvenile Driver Arrested and Charged

Authorities arrested the juvenile driver at the scene. The suspect was transported to the Calhoun County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Police said the juvenile is facing charges including:
