LEXINGTON, KY — Lexington police are actively investigating a hit-and-run collision that injured a juvenile Wednesday morning at the intersection of Russell Cave and Radcliffe roads.
The incident occurred around 6:50 a.m. when the juvenile was crossing the street and struck by a vehicle, according to Lexington Police Lt. Steven Wiggins. The juvenile, whose age has not been released, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released any description of the driver or the vehicle involved and are urging anyone with information to come forward. It is currently unknown whether the juvenile was on their way to school or had any connection to Fayette County Public Schools. A district spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Authorities continue to search for the driver as the investigation remains ongoing.
