Man accused of exploiting children with hidden camera and AI released on bond

County officials said a West Virginia man accused of using a hidden camera to record children changing clothes and creating sexually explicit videos with artificial intelligence has been released on bond.

Deputies said 36-year-old Caleb Daniel Bourgeois of Cottageville is charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators allege Bourgeois, a member of the Jackson County Junior Fair Board, recorded children inside a camper at last year’s fair and later created AI-generated videos depicting children performing sexual acts.

The Jackson County Clerk’s Office confirmed Bourgeois was released Wednesday on a $150,000 property bond and placed under home confinement.

Officials said the bond conditions prohibit Bourgeois from leaving the state, accessing social media, using the internet, or having contact with minors.

Parents or guardians who believe their children may have been victimized can contact deputies by calling 304-373-2290.
