Man Found Dead in Chicago Ridge Home; One Person in Custody, Police Say

A suspect is in custody after officers found a man dead early Monday inside a Chicago Ridge home, police said.

Around 4:30 a.m., Chicago Ridge officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a home in the 10500 block of South Austin Avenue. Police said they found the man dead inside.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 59-year-old Mohammad Qouqazeh and ruled his death a homicide. Authorities have not released details about how he died.

Police took a suspect into custody in connection with the case. Investigators said the incident was an isolated domestic situation and there is no threat to the public.

Chicago Ridge police continue to investigate, and charges are pending.
